My how time flies! I celebrated my 20thyear in education (all with West Point Public Schools) during the 2010-11school year, and it's been a wonderful ride. I received my Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering degree in 1987 and a Master of Aerospace Engineering degree in 1988, both from the University of Michigan. I also earned a Master of Teaching (1991, Sacred Heart University) and Master of Mathematics/Operations Research (1999, VCU). Since 1999 I have managed the instructional technology and information technology systems for WPPS. While this demands much of my attention, I've enjoyed keeping a foot in the classroom with a daily morning schedule that involves teaching dual-enrollment college statistics, calculus, and physics to our division's high-achieving upperclassmen. Be young, have fun, teach!
My professional interests most definitely are focused on mobile educational technology and the emergence of web tools that continue to transform the pedagogical paradigm. The advent of readily available mobile devices and internet resources offers us the opportunity to significantly improve the educational process for our students, and this march towards a developing 21st Century learning model is exciting and energizing. The future is bright!
